So let's get into it. Some of the most common errors in spoken English are:
那就讓我們開始吧。 英語口語中一些最常見的錯誤有:

1. Misusing prepositions: English prepositions can be tricky, and learners often struggle with using them correctly in sentences.
誤用介詞:英語介詞可能很棘手,學習者常常難以在句子中正確使用它們。

2. Incorrect word order: English has a specific word order, and learners may make mistakes by placing words in the wrong order, causing confusion in their communication.
語序不正確:英文有特定的順序,學習者可能會因為單詞順序錯誤而造成溝通時混亂。

3. Pronunciation errors: English pronunciation can be challenging, and learners often face difficulties in pronouncing certain words or sounds correctly.
發音錯誤:英語發音具有挑戰性,學習者經常難以正確發音某些單詞或發音。

4. Confusing similar sounding words: English words that sound similar, but have different meanings, can be confusing for learners, leading to misunderstandings.
混淆發音相似的單詞:發音相似但含義不同的英語單詞會使學習者感到困惑,從而導致誤解。

5. Overuse of certain words: Learners may overuse certain words or phrases in their speech or writing, making their communication repetitive.
過度重複使用某些單詞:學習者可能會在演講或寫作中過度重複使用某些詞或短語,使他們的口語交談內容顯得單調。

6. Lack of subject-verb agreement: Learners may sometimes forget to match the subject and verb in a sentence, ok leading to grammatical errors.
主謂不一致:學習者有時可能會忘記在句子中匹配主語和動詞,從而導致語法錯誤。

If you're a learner, you've probably made at least one of these mistakes when speaking, but you might not have even realised. Book a class now to get feedback from a native qualified teacher. It's a good idea to make note of these mistakes early on, and make sure your learning materials are allowing you to get feedback about whether these recurring issues are something you need to pay attention to.
如果你正在學習英文,很有可能你在說英文的過程中至少犯過以上其中一個錯誤,但你自己可能沒有意識到。我建議你 立即預訂課程,與專業合格的英文外語教師一同學習,從他們的反饋中受益。及早發現並注意這些錯誤絕對是明智之舉,並確保你可以從學習材料中獲得回饋通過了解這些常見問題,你可以更進一步地了解哪些問題值得特別關注。

There’s a high chance, if you are making the mistakes above, that they’ve either originated from your mother tongue, in which case you haven’t yet received enough natural language input in your target language for your brain to confidently apply a new system of structures, or, in the case of mistakes number 4 and 5, that there’s still a way to go with accumulating more vocabulary, which is the foundation of a language.
如果你犯了以上的錯誤,很可能是源自於你的母語背景。在這種情況下,你可能還未接受足夠的英文語言輸入,使你的大腦能夠自信地應用新的結構體系。若你經常犯下第4點和第5點的錯誤,這意味著你在累積詞彙方面還需努力,因為詞彙是語言的基石。

Learning a new language can be challenging, but it can also be a rewarding experience. Don't let these common mistakes hinder your communication skills. By understanding them, recognising if they're happening for you, and learning a new programme, besides the one that your mind is using from your mother tongue, you can improve your English and connect more deeply with the culture you're learning about.
學習一門新語言可能具有挑戰性,但同時也是一種有價值的體驗。不要讓這些常見的錯誤阻礙你的溝通技巧。透過了解這些錯誤,辨識它們是否在你身上出現,並學習一個新的語言體系,除了你的大腦使用母語的體系外,你可以提升你的英語水平,並更深入地與你正在學習的文化連結起來。

Learn the language --> learn a new way of thinking --> learn the language ad infinitum.
學習語言 --> 學習一種新的思維方式 --> 無限學習語言,無限

Learning grammar rules in a vacuum has never produced reliable results, as far as I can tell. Because language is a holistic sort of thing, you need a holistic sort of approach to really get anywhere with it, incorporating language skills, cultural knowledge, and practical communication strategies into your learning programme. Native English teachers play a crucial role in helping connect language to culture. They can provide cultural context and teach learners how to use language appropriately in different situations. By practising real-life scenarios, you can build your confidence and apply your language skills in a meaningful way.

As I talk a lot about on my YouTube channel, by understanding how people use language and how it reflects their culture, you can communicate more effectively and avoid misunderstandings. For example, British people tend to be overly polite and use a hedging a lot in their speech. If you're not aware of this culture and how to navigate it, you might come across problems, particularly at work. For more on hedging and how to do it yourself, check out my British English online course.
正如我在 YouTube 頻道上經常提到的, 通過了解母語人士如何使用語言以及語言如何反映他們的文化,你可以更有效地溝通並避免誤解。 例如,英國人往往過於禮貌,在講話中經常使用比較曖昧、間接的表達。 如果你不了解這種文化以及如何駕馭它,你可能會遇到困難,特別是在工作中。 有關英式模糊的表達方式及如何自己學習表達的更多信息,請看我的英式英語線上課程

Why writing is so helpful 為什麼寫作如此有幫助

You might think that writing is useful in order to improve your writing skills, but interestingly, I find that writing exercises are the best ways of showing where the spoken language errors are. For starters, when talking, you're in mid-flow, and probably don't want to be distracted by a teacher correcting you every 5 seconds. If you're a visual learner like me, you're also less likely to remember something when it's corrected verbally.
你可能認為寫作有助於提升你的寫作技巧,但有趣的是,我發現進行寫作練習是展示口語錯誤的最佳方式。對於初學者來說,當你說話時,你處於流暢的狀態,可能不想被老師每隔5秒就糾正,這會分散你的注意力。如果你和我一樣是一位視覺學習者,你可能也很難記住被口頭糾正的內容。

We include writing exercises in our classes as it's a chance for teachers to highlight some recurring mistakes. When a particular type of mistake occurs more than once in writing, it's a good indicator that the learner has misheard an aspect of the language, or hasn't mastered it yet. That means we can hone in on that aspect and begin re-writing that programme in their mind.
在我們的課堂上,我們加入了寫作練習,因為這提供了教師指出反復出現的錯誤的機會。當某種特定類型的錯誤在寫作中出現不止一次時,這是一個很好的指標,表明學習者可能在某個語言方面有聽錯或未掌握的地方。這意味著我們可以在這方面進行加強,並開始在他們的腦海中重新建立掌握語言的模式。

The International Phonetic Alphabet is your friend 國際音標是你的好朋友

Particularly when it comes to pronunciation, people often pronounce sounds in a non-standard way because they're actually hearing it that way. In my online course, I outline the key sounds that are unique in British English, or that differ from American English, using the International Phonetic Alphabet. If you can hear the difference between some subtle pronunciation nuances using the International Phonetic Alphabet, which is a more specific representation of different sounds, you're much more likely to pronounce these sounds correctly too. Conversely, if you haven't heard it right, there's no way you'll say it right.
特別是在發音方面,人們經常以不標準的方式發音,因為他們實際上是以這種方式聽到的。在我的線上課程中,我使用國際音標概述了英式英語中獨特的聲音,和美式英語不同的關鍵發音。如果你學會使用國際音標(以更具體的方式表示不同的聲音)來聽出一些細微發音之間的差異,那麼你也更有可能正確地發出這些聲音。相反地,如果你沒有聽對,那你就不可能說得正確。

To perfect your British accent, I recommend paying close attention to vowel sounds when you're listening to everyday content. You may need the help of a teacher to help you unpick which sounds you're stumbling on. And you'll need natural everyday spoken English to listen to. If you're a beginner, you'll probably find the real online world of free videos a little overwhelming, so I recommend starting with face-to-face lessons or an online course. My online courses are some of the very few that are created by a native speaker, and that come with full translations in Mandarin if you need them, so you can follow the lessons without getting lost.

For absolute beginners, I recommend a teacher like our highly experienced teacher Sara, or the British Council. For learners of an intermediate level, I recommend our online group tutorials, which tackle all areas from vocabulary and reading, to conversation and grammar, allowing you to improve your English in a systematised way with a teacher. For intermediate learners, there's also my online British culture course, with bilingual subtitles and mini tests along the way to check your learning.
對於初學者,我推薦經驗豐富的Sara老師 或來自英國文化協會這樣的專業外師。對於中級水平的學習者,我會推薦我們的線上小組教程,這些教程涵蓋從詞彙和閱讀到會話和語法的所有範圍,可以讓你與老師一起系統地提高英文程度。 對於中級學習者,還有我的線上英國文化課程,有雙語字幕和小測驗來檢查你的學習情況。
