As a language learner myself, and having seen plenty of students either progress rapidly or stagnate in their speaking, I can wholeheartedly say that consistency is key when it comes to improving your speaking in another language.

You need repetition, and lots of it. It’s the students who spend time outside of class going over the materials, watching English TV, listening to podcasts, or writing an English journal, that make the biggest progress.
